To use the app and play the Wahl-O-Mat, an internet connection is necessary.

Wahl-O-Mat

The Wahl-O-Mat is a question-and-answer tool that shows which officially registered party aligns closest to your political position. You can answer 38 political statements with "agree," "disagree," "neutral," or "skip this statement." All officially registered parties are invited to participate in the Wahl-O-Mat. This way, you can compare your own answers with those of the parties. The Wahl-O-Mat is not a voting recommendation but an information service about elections and politics.

Your Wahl-O-Mat Result

The Wahl-O-Mat calculates the degree of personal agreement with the selected parties. By clicking on the party names, you can find short descriptions of all parties. Under "More Information about the Party," you can access a scientific profile of each respective party.

Examine your result:

• Under "Customization," you can adjust your positions and weighting and directly observe how your changes affect your result.
• In the "Party Comparison," you can see at a glance where certain parties agree or disagree on specific statements.
• Under "Explanations for Statements," positions and justifications of all parties are listed and sorted by statements. The parties are displayed and ordered based on their answers (agree, neutral, disagree).
• In the "Standpoints" section, you can find all positions and justifications of a party for all 38 statements in one place. Simply select them among all officially registered parties.

Accessibility

The Wahl-O-Mat has been designed to be accessible. In addition, it offers the following features that you can access through the corresponding symbols at the bottom right:

• Text-to-speech function: After activation, you can listen to the text on the respective page. You can pause and resume the text-to-speech function using the controls, mute it, or jump to the previous or next text.
• Sign language: The symbol opens a video that provides information about the respective page in German Sign Language. On the homepage, you will find general information about the Wahl-O-Mat, while the statements section presents each individual statement, followed by an explanation of the options available on each respective page.
• Easy language: Here you will find general information about the Wahl-O-Mat and its functionality in easy language.
